I was asked to put up this picture..Chicks on Pages 6..New question P7

Blue Andalusians are along the same lines as Minorcas and Leghorns. They are lighter-weighted birds and lay fairly well. They lay white eggs. The male looks as though he is a pure and should have come from a white or even "tinted" egg.

The females could possibly be a mix but without more information, it's almost impossible to tell if they are:

Blue Plymouth Rocks (yellow skin)
Blue Orpingtons (white skin)
Blue Marans (white skin)
Blue Jersey Giant (yellow skin)

Here is a blue Andalusian male:

Here are the eggs they have been laying. They are the ones at the bottom of the picture below the white and light brown egg. The top is my BCM eggs. In the middle is my Leghorn and Jersey Giant eggs.

Also, they all (hens and roo) have white skin.

Excellent, that takes out the Jersey Giant and Plymouth Rock. Now you're down to Marans, Orpingtons and Australorps.

The eggs look darker than normal for an Orpington, but it's possible for Australorps. It's also possible that because of the lineage, the eggs are a lighter shade than the Marans club calls for.

The birds came to me from a person who got them as chicks from Ovabid. I looked up the seller and it does not show they sell anything but Marans. No spanish breeds, lorps, andalusians. It shows they sell Marans only.

The sellers mane is godzillaskitty. I am not trying to call her out only putting the name becasuse maybe someone else has bought these chicks and can tell me what he is. I really do think the hens are Maran. They are just not real dark.

Tks
everyone...
