That seller has posted several different breeds on ovabid over the last several months -- and the "blue Marans" that have been listed have all been from a mixed blue/cuckoo pen. There's no telling what else might have been mixed in.

I'm under the impression that Marans can have white earlobes but it is a defect and the would be DQ'ed at a show.

That roo has the earlobes of a blue Andalusian, the color of a blue Andalusian, the build of a blue Andalusian....you get the picture.

To the OP could we please spell the breed Marans? Not Maran- Not Maran's "Just sayin"

I am still up in the air on the blue Andalusian thing. I am waiting to talk with the seller first. From what I see, she dont not sell any spanish type birds. My only thought may be, it is a Blue Marans with a fault.

If from some reason it is a blue Andalusian what would happen with a cross with a Blue Marans Hen?

Ok....I give....

I was just saying....I have the sellers info and will talk with them. So.....as I am not sure where to get a Blue Marans Roo from what would be the best cross from my three girls. The roos I have are:

Jersey Giant
BCM..Clean legged
BCM..Feathered legged
White Leghorn
White silkie
BCM Frizzle (dad was BCM mom was I think a Cochin Frizzle)
White Americana

Since the roo is an Andalusian, there's a good possibility that the hens -- or at least some of them -- are Andalusians as well. Do you have any better pics of them?

this is the only pict I have of one of the girls. I can tell you they started laying about a week ago and the only thing I have collected from the pen is a dark Brown egg. See previous picts on this post of eggs. the eggs I am getting are on the bottom.
