So I am incubating 12 eggs and the second one just hatched there is something attached to its butt, I am thinking it is the yolk sack. Maybe whats left of it? Can I remove it? Should I just leave it on his butt or can I take it off? I heard they were supposed to eat the yolk and I am wondering how it could if it is attached to the butt... Well its no emergency I am just wondering what I should do before I make a mistake I am new to chickens after all....

Sometimes there is a little yolk sac left when they hatch, just leave it a lone it will dry up on it's own.

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. The chick should absorb the yolk sac, but it may take a few hours. Like, kidcody said, just leave him in the incubator until it does.
