I was supposed to be getting Barred Plymouth Rocks. I got the girls, but what is this beauty?

Hey everyone!
I had a friend pick me up some Barred Plymouth Rock hens and a rooster from an auction. Well she got them, but the rooster has got to be mixed with something else. He is VERY handsome, but I don't know what he is. I want to have my broody chickens have babies, but I want to have some idea of what they will become. I will have a very mixed flock. Currently I have 6 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 5 Black Sex Links, 2 RIR, 4 BPR, and 4 Red Sex Links. There might be some Dominique in the rooster, but the only thing I will semi know is the BPR and RIR mix, except I don't know what the other breed (s) is in my roo.

One other thing...
why do they preen like ducks? My original chickens don't do it, but all the new chickens I got (I don't know about the roo) have a skin "tag/gland" by their tail and they rub their heads through it just like a duck. Is this normal?
