Don’t support these businesses. Buy local.

Anecdotally, not sure about this. Bought 6 chicks locally and 3 died, 2 within days and surprisingly one after a few weeks! Knock on wood, out of all of the chicks I've hatched from Ebay eggs, zero have died after the first few hours (only two by euthanasia on day one, they were assisted hatches). Now hatch rate on the other hand...

Unfortunately, it's complicated and completely opposite for chickens. 80% you're going to get poorly bred, diseased birds from your average backyard "breeder".

That has been my experience with the only time I tried to get some local chicks.

Yeah USPS tracking rarely works… too many budget cuts over the last decade or so.

Have fun with your Dorkings! I had one from McMurray, they’re cool birds. I love their Roman history and extra toes. Plus silver duckwing is one of my favorite patterns.
