Yep, lol. Forgot about the extended learning courses. I got an A in duck math (i wanted and bought 2 ducks, not sure why there are now 5 really lol) and have graduated to turkey math. I am trying very hard not to move on to geese...but if I subtract 1 chicken that gives me room for a pair of geese, right?

I forgot to tell you all in my first post that the sweet little white chicken that started it all - it turned out to be a Rooster. as for the horses, I re-homed the 2 yr old paint (he just wasn't going to grow enough for my husband) and as soon as I find a replacement I'm going to rehome the other one as well, unfortunately he has arthritic changes, so my husband is too heavy for him and isn't as suitable / quiet for my 9 yr old as I had hoped.

You know the fun thing about chicken math is that I decided early on that I wasn't going to go crazy like people that already had chickens were saying I would, I was going to keep it at 20 maximum.

(2) adult Roosters - but according to the basics of chicken math, they don't count
(11) 10 wk old pullets - but again basic chicken math says Chicks don't count
(1) 10 wk old cockerel - I think he might be a double negative since Roo's and Chicks don't count
(4) 2 wk old babies - pretty sure at least 2 of these will be roo's, but they still don't count

(4) adult hens - only 3 are laying, but Pretty usually does, so I'll count her

so of my 22 chickens, 18 don't count because they are Roo's or chicks, so once I explain Chicken Math to my husband (he is a bit resistant so far) I can go get 16 more chickens because I only have 4 laying hens, but wait. Don't the joys of advanced chicken math state that if it is named it doesn't count?? All of my chickens have names, so I guess I have no chickens

and therefore can go get 20 more

oh and chikibabe - you definitely have to go back for hens, but you can't stop at ten, you already have 4 baby roosters and each of them are going to need at least 5 girls of their own. heheh
