It's been over 90 degrees here today and we've pretty much stayed inside all day. Needless to say that's got everyone a little on edge. I've got a 2yr old girl and a 6yr old boy and they have been fighting all day! So right now I've closed myself in the office and told them to leave me alone.....ok so I YELLED at them to leave the office and leave me alone!! Now they are in the other room playing together! There's no screaming, no fighting, just calm playing.....it's lovely.

Just last week, my 2-year-old was helping me garden, took a break to play with the chickens. 3 minutes later, I realized she'd taken one through the house and let herself out the side door. I followed the chicken sounds to find her 3 doors down, naked with a chicken on a neighbor's porch. I'm still waiting for cps to show up, as she's turning into quite the escapee.

Yes, if you rarely use the LOUD voice, when you break it out, holy cow does EVERYTHING slam to a halt and their behavior is church mouse perfect. DH came home to that one day, and had a kid go up to him before he could wonder what had happened who said "SHHHH Daddy! Mommy used her shrieky voice, so you have to be really really good and quiet or you'll get in trouble!"
