I will never try to help a cooper hawk again!

Ouch! My best intended wildlife rescues always go badly.

I do think it would be a good idea to rinse your wound with some Hydrogen Peroxide, though. I'm a Mom and it's what I'd do. What am I saying? I do do this all the time for my accident prone dh.

Then put on the Neosporin and a bandaid so you don't get the ointment on your clothes.

I don't think tetanus would be an issue in a case like this.

On the bright side, ask your mom to pick up some body jewelry on the way home - something pretty, you already have the hole so don't need to go through all THAT again!

I hope you feel ok now. Take care and you DID do a good thing - a good heart for sure!

So glad he didn't kill any of your babies! You have had a rough time with your chickens recently. Its about time for some good luck!

Yep, no good deed goes unpunished. I always lose when I try to help out, but that never stops me. I have been bit by more animals I tried to save than I can even count anymore lol.

I put rubbing alcohol on it for now until my mom gets to the store for some peroxide. I'll put the neosporin on it like you suggested. Thanks a lot everyone.

You always make me laugh Wildsky. My dad won't let me have any piercings/jewelry until I'm out of the house so that's a bummer.

It was good of you to try to help the hawk

The 'no good deed goes unpunished' thing does seem reliably true but it does not deter the good hearted!

My cousin Storm heard about the girl's deaths and gave me Tiny and Snowball's three sisters. (We split an order last year) So I have a new white, a partridge, and a black silkie hen.

Ooo. That sounds downright painful.
