I wish *I* was getting $65,000

ooh dear....just spend the money how you want...

I would pay off my mortgage and be totally debt free, of course my MTg is less than 60 thousand so I would save some and spend some.

I know what you mean lol! It would only take 2500 for me, then my paycheck would be mine again and I could build a better coop, with better fencing, and feel like my birds were safe at night! Especially with those Chupacabra hanging around here!

I spent my inheritance on a collage education. I figure that's something I'll always have as long as I am alive (or until I get Alzheimer's).

If I were to get an inheritance now, I'm not sure what I'd do- probably invest most of it. We're going to do some work on the house anyway, but we might upgrade a bit more. We're thinking about trading in our car, but would probably do it sooner. My chickens have all they need and I probably spoil them too much as it is. Well maybe I'd get some chicken diapers to have on hand for emergencies. It sure would be nice to have for hurricane season or if one of them gets injured. I just haven't been able to bring myself to make or buy them.

My thoughts exactly. If I were inheriting money, then my husband would be inheriting it, too.

Hmp that was my thought, too.
Until he wanted to call in to work, but expected me to save my hard earned paycheck for a downpayment on him a new truck.

I don't regularly deposit my whole paycheck into the joint account anymore.

Oh, no, I wouldn't put up with that, either. I was married to a guy who wanted me to take care of him, he handed me his paycheck every week, but I'd better have enough saved out of the budget for whatever his little heart desired. No, a partnership is shared, both on the income side and the outflow side - which doesn't mean you can't spend, but big money purchases need to be agreed upon.
