I woke up to snow...

Thanks for the offers of emergency rooming!

I'll be traveling from Corvallis OR about 270 miles north to Everett WA. Will be driving my old Lexus SC300 which is a real wheel drive coupe. With all season tires that are more like summer tires, snow and ice = not so good.

As for all the school closures, out here in the PNW, school is canceled if there is a Chance of snow, and if there is ice. Largely because most here don't know what to do when the rain isn't liquid anymore.

Perhaps y'all just need to do what the ducks and geese are smart enough to do.... migrate south for the winter! Although I do miss the snow and 4 actual seasons.... C'mon down, and bring some white stuff with ya!

I grew up in Bend, and school was never closed-even with 8 feet piled up outside the school. It is so funny to live in the valley now and see schools close at the hint of snow or ice. People just don't know how to drive in it here.

One thing that makes it so danged cold... is the very humidity. It's 66 or so inside, and humidity is darn near 80!
