I woke up to snow...

It's 26 here at the moment.

Found 3 dead geese this morning, though. No, not the cold. Something had bit their heads off. I'm guessing dog by the tracks adn the fact they appearedt o have been killed for sport rather than food.

and now its ice~~!!!

We've got a guest bedroom!!

Though... there may be chooks in there tonight if it doesn't warm up.

Ironically, my morning commute today was a piece of cake. The normal 60 mins was 45. I hope tonight is the same. I'd like to get some groceries on the way home. Our fridge is empty!!

Dang greyfields-sorry about the geese.

I think one of the worse things we deal with here is the high humidity. When I lived in Bend it would be very low temps but dry and sunny-we would wear shorts to school in the winter

Over in the Willamette Valley when it gets cold it's moist and gets in your bones. Brrrrrrrr

They had school in the valley today, for the first time this week, but the roads are still nasty. When I lived in MI they never canceled for snow, but if there was wet ice they would cancel. We are expecting another storm the next couple of days with freezing rain and more snow. Our temps today are going to get warm enough to melt the snow and then very cold tonight to freeze everything over. Yuck, we'll see if the kids go in to school again this week.

I walked to the store the other day, and saw an older woman in an older bronco pulling out from her neighborhood road. When she couldn't get her wheels to go she gave it more gas

Needless to say, she did a complete 180, and wisely decided that was the direction she should be pointed in and went right back home

Silkie, drive carefully. We are leaving Sunday as well, but we're going the opposite direction you are and we shouldn't have a problem.

When I lived in Sisters, I could never understand why my step-brother (in Salem) always got school cancelled. I mean we were trudging through multiple feet of snow! I know now that it's because of the ice factor. It doesn't really matter if you have a 4x4 and studs on the ice.

My poor dh works for Les Schwab, and they have been working from 7am-8pm for a week with a 10 minute lunch break. I sure hope it eases up soon for his sake-I like the extra money for Christmas, but I feel so bad for them. I just took them some doughnuts-dd got to give dad a kiss which is more than she's done all week.

I think it's the hills on the west end of town.

I lived on Queen Anne in Seattle for nearly 15 years. A trace of snow and you couldn't walk on the sidewalks, let alone dare drive.

Oh yeah-my sister used to live on Capitol Hill. She still lives in Seattle-they get hit hard by this stuff.
