I Would Love to See Pictures of Your Set Up!

Remuda I can wait! If you made your original better it should be great!

Hummingbird, I am jealous of the cool barn you had to use for your birds!

LilRed is the hole I can see inside your coop where you put the ramp? How do you like having that type of set up?

Wava I love they way your coops are laid out with foraging space in front. Do you just let one or two coops out to range at a time?

Keep them coming folks! I've been searching through the archives and there aren't many pics of full set ups. As soon as I've batteries for the camera I'll take picks of mine and see if you can help me get a clearer idea of what I need to do next! Thanks!

Here's mine its three sided:

My birds are totally free ranged , but i do use theses panels to set up brooders and breeder pens when i need them.
I like panels cause i can always move them to fresh ground when needed and this kind of setup is fast and easy.

If you click on my byc page button you can view my setup. I'm a small time chicken owner because I live in the city. Things will be different when we move to our land

. Here's a few updated pics inside and outside of our coops and runs.

In this one, you can see we added a coop on the left end of the run. We built it outside of the run in order to save run space. On the right hand side of the picture inside the big run, I have an expanded metal outdoor brooder, another CraigsList find. The partial sheet of plywood you see on the wall of the run to the right was thrown up to earlier in the summer to provide a wind block from the hot, dry winds we get up here....... We live on top of a rock, haha! I'll be taking it down and moving it to the left side of the run, along with additional sheets, once the winds start coming predominantly from the north. The roof area between the door to the run and the first upright post to the left of that is all that is not covered by tin or metal.

This is a picture from inside the main run looking at the coop and the outdoor brooder. Pop door to coop is at lower left.

This one is from inside the run looking toward the new mini coop and mini run (grow out pen) we built onto the end of the run

A closer look at the dividable coop, see the partial wall to the left? I did have two separate coops because as chicks, the leghorns were plucking the wyandottes bald. I sold a few of the leghorns and now have integrated the leghorns that were left into the wyandotte flock. Its very easy to add the board back to separate anything later on should I need to. If there are problems integrating the flocks, I will add boards to the front of the small coops to enclose them from the elements and have any trouble makers coop up out there this winter.

This is a view from inside the shed at the area we walled off (with wire) for the coop. It's about 6X12 and I am hoping to have my Marans flock and Wyandotte flocks merged by winter so this will be where they all hang out at that time. There are three nesting boxes, part of what you can see on the right side of the pic. I will be adding about 4 more. Don't mind the feed sacks stapled to the wall, the previous owner of the shed used them for insulation. I'll be adding insulation board for this winter.

Lastly, a picture from inside the coop of the roost, nest boxes and ladders. I'll be adding one more roost like this one running the length of the coop closer to winter or once I have the flocks integrated.

My husband came in while I was looking back through this thread early this morning and when he saw all of y'all's pictures he said "Oh no! We're not building any more coops or pens, are we?"....... Priceless

I havent officially built my coop yet, but was looking for something where I could house all the breeds separately with out having a ton of different coops. I found a fellow BYCer who had done exactly what I was looking for, however I will be adapting it to help keep it more weatherproof, as we get much more snow and ice here in Ararat, than she does in Morganton. I have several different breeds to separate as well as colors with in the breed than she does also, so my pens will be set up slightly different.

Hope this inspires you. Cant wait to see photos of your set up too Jloeffler

Unfortunately, the coop blends in with the shop behind it. The Coop is 4x8, the run is 8x16 plus the space under the coop.

Apparently, I cannot post photographs.
