VelvettFrog, all I can say is OMG!!! That is awesome!! I take it your birds fee range? Or do you keep them in the coop full time? I thought I saw pics of them coming and going, but the drool on my screen may have obscured my vision a bit...

What do you use the rows of cages for? Breeding pairs, show birds, ??

There are a lot of us who use chain link fencing for our run (good point earlier about the ease of moving it if that is something you need) and wood/hardware cloth runs such as 2DogsCoops above. Is there anyone who has both and would be willing to lay out the pros and cons of each?

On a side note: y'all are giving me barn envy. {sigh}

Love all your coops/barns/breeding houses!

I hope to be posting some of my own before too long! I'm going to buy a 12' x 40-45' sea container. That will be my "coop" then I will have 10 runs on one side, each one will have a small/large/medium coop on the inside. Depends how many and how big the chickens are. Then on the other side I hope to have a large pen for my juveniles. On the inside there will be of course the coops, that will take up most of the room, then I will also have my 4 incubators in there, a broody pen, several custom build brooders, then lots of storage for my supplies: bedding, feeding supplies, etc. I will also probably have all my egg wrapping supplies in there as well, bubble wrap, newspaper, packing boxes, you get the idea.

Anway, it's going to cost way over the $5,000 I'm borrowing...

I've gone so long without a good, safe, clean, poultry facility(s) that isn't not even funny!!

instead?!?

don't judge the coop i am currently building a 2.5'x5' coop that is off the ground by 3ft, it is 70%finished. i made my run 6x18ft and 6ft tall. i used 2x4 welded wire on bottom and chicken wire the rest of the way up. i built it in panels for ease of movement. the panels include 2 12ft, 4 6ft, so i could make a 12ftx12ft or a 6x18. the top is just 7ft wildlife netting from lowes.

I need to take new photos. The row-cages was a custom build for a friend. She put quail in them.

I don't have the space some of you have, but here is my walk in run. I have two coops which I can access from the back. I've also left space that I could add two more coops if I ever wanted. My girls are in here when they need security but they have a yard five times the size to roam in most of the time.
