YIKES!!!!!!!!

She probably saw the fox and thought "Oooooh pretty red, I need to get closer and see it." She just wanted to be it's friend.

Just so you know I love Cedar even more. Give him a treat for me.

She just doesn't have enough sense in that autistic head of hers to get away from danger fast enough.

ETA: Give your husband a treat too for sicking Cedar on the fox.

He had his "treat", and brought back the front leg of the deer with him as proof. However, we didn't need any proof as he yacked up most of the evidence. His treat was "shared" with all.
Why why why do dogs love smelly things that make them sick?

Here's the varmint as caught on the wildlife camera last fall. I used to think he was pretty. Not so much now.

BAD foxy! I still think they are pretty but why can't they hunt the wild animals!

And wasn't that nice of Cedar to share....

On a lighter note - Eric Pretty pretty princess got weighed today. She is a whopping 8/10ths of a pound and I am pretty sure she is done growing. Her comb is starting to color in and her wattles got a little bigger.

All puns were intended.

Hello Iowa!

Just a reminder that there are still lots of towns and cities right here in Iowa up for grabs in the BYC Chicken L.O.R.E. Project!

This is a massive undertaking, and everyone is encouraged to participate! Your knowledge of Chicken L.O.R.E. will earn you GFM Scratch, which are good towards new GFM Memberships, Membership extensions, or Membership gifts.

Remember - you don't have to select a city in Iowa - cruise the selection list and choose any city still available!

Get started now! Click on the Chicken L.O.R.E. link above for all the details, and remember your Project Managers are here to help in any way we can.

Good Luck, and Thanx for Joining In!

Stephanie......
Exactly how much is 8/10ths of a pound? I was really bad at my gazindas!

Wished I lived closer to Maquoketa. It would take me 3 days to drive there!

Speaking of driving... 2 weekends ago (it will be 3 this coming Friday) I was in MN taking a P/T Testing Agents course. At that time Iowa had not planned theirs yet, or the info wasn't out anyway. The results of my passing were sent to the IPA, (Iowa Poultry Assn.) and I have to be certified through them and they send me the booklets etc. As of yesterday, still nothing from them. I have also not received from MN my Permit to Import chickens and eggs, which has been approved but as yet I have seen nothing of it! Got a swap in New Ulm on Sun. and I need my stuff! Red tape! Everything is electronic today so why should it take so long? The Sec. of Ag. for the State of Iowa and I were in the same high school together he's 2 years older than I and graduated with my Sister but I didn't think I needed to involve him! Hmmm? To add insult to injury, driving home from MN after the class, I was ticketed for speeding! They talked about raising traffic fines in this State, if they doubled them it would still be cheaper than MN. I had to pay, because I was speeding, I admit to it, $140.00 for 15 over the limit! I am gonna have to charge $20.00/bird to do the rapid whole blood tests just to recover my expenses to get the permit that I don't have yet!

Ok. I'm done ranting. Now, anyone want to make an appt. to have their birds tested at some future date?

Eric it's something like 12.8 ounces. She is a low class "B". I put her outside again yesterday for a couple of hours. I find she doesn't freak out so much if I put her on a branch (We have one that fell out of a big tree laying on the ground)
I don't think she wants to get her pretty, pretty princess toes dirty.
