IA here

Do you have to register in advance for the show? Is it an annual sale? Do they have lots of birds for sale? I"ve never been to this.

It is a formal show, ABA and APA, not swap but there will be sale coops, inside, for those who purchase them at $3.00/ea., and like most shows, alot of selling goes on outside as well. As far as entering; I would contact Diana Dahir, Show Secretary, at 712.485.2412, ASAP! As I told someone yesterday, they like to have everything planned in advance, it's a lot of work, but they almost never turn away an entry and will usually let you pay for your entries when you show up if they are expecting you. Yes, it is an annual event but this will be the first time there for me and most likely the last show of the season in Iowa, that I know of. If I can be of any further help, let me know. Hope to see you there!

I should add, if my memory is corrcet, they usually have just shy of 1000 entries.

Chubby Bubby id doing great! An egg a day and they are biguns! She and Curly are still in love. She comes in in the afternoon and jumps up in their palace and has her egg, Curly announces it then if it's not too windy or cold, she goes back out with the rest of the girls to scratch about. She is the quietest bird we have. It's amazing that that Amazon of a chicken (compared to all our other stock), is so gentle and calm! I pick her up to put her in her pen and take her out and she does not struggle and she weighs a ton! Curly weighs less than a pound! What do you suppose their chicks would look like? Would Amber, like a mini-Chubby Bubby? I think it would be cute! No guarantees of course. Don't know how he does it if she scratches an itch and is sent flying to the other end of the pen!
Lora, commented that there are very little whites in her eggs, mostly yolk?
She seems very happy and content and gets along well with the rest of the girls.

Are you considering going over Steph?

Where? To the dark side?????

Just kiddin' - I was thinking about putting The Princess in the show but thought it was too late. I have plenty of mutt chicks running around my yard right now - I think if I went tiny it would have to be pure sermas

We went fishing pretty late the other night and forgot to tell the kiddos to get Princess out of the yard when it got dark. We got home and she had planted herself on our picture window ledge. She was NOT happy.

How did one little chicken get so spoiled?

All I can say is hahahahahaha.... I think you should give the lady a call that I gave the number for and enter her. Her Dad will be there, and her brother! Her mom is busy raising a step child.

I feel your pain also. Something took my Cayuga hen last night

And she had a nest of eggs hid somewhere that she was sitting on.

I guess I didn't know you could have chickens in Johnston.
