IA here

Eric, when will you be returning from your trip? I have something to send you but don't want it to sit at an empty house too long

Unless you have someone picking up your mail? It's not perishable or anything.

Has anyone else tried outrunning a flock of starving (so they think) chickens? The Iowa Blues always win - in fact on pullet likes to just jump in the feed bin and start munching.

I don't know how many feet I've stepped on lately because they can't get enough of my wonderfulness. (It's not the feed I swear!)

LOL I have a lot hogs, I mean chickens like that. When you slop them, they still turn their beaks up! Spoiled brats! Or is that brats as in bratwurst?

Accidently left a partial bag of feed slumped over in the corner of the run... Later in the day, I found 4 hens in it...fighting over the remnants in the bottom. And there wasn't a one of them willing to let me drag em out of there.

What would cause discolored egg yolks?

I cracked open a couple of eggs (just laid and gathered today) and the yolks in both of them were an ugly greenish/brownish color! I threw them away and used a couple more and after cracking open eight eggs, they ALL looked the same way! I smelled them and they smelled fine. I have never had my eggs look like this before.

I'm feeding them the same feed and grain, nothing's changed there.

Has anyone ever had this happen and know what caused it?

I think they have cabin fever! My flock won't even get out of the way when I go through them. I have to shuffle my feet so I won't crush toes:D
