IA here

I guess you're right! :p

You can get it bagged. I pick up bagged feed for chicks with my car and van all the time.

I store my bagged feed in plastic trash cans. You can fit 3 1/2 50# bags in one can.

This is Iowa. Doesn't EVERYONE have a grain elevator near them?

I don't have a pickup, though.

OK, now I'm really thinking about this. I'd like to do some meat chickens this year, but I'm not so sure about the cost. If buying by the half ton would really make a decent dent in the feed cost, I'm sure my dad would help me out with his truck, especially if there were a roaster or two in it for him. Is it bagged? How do you store it?

I am a big Kent fan too. I feed the higher protein multi flock stuff and I have noticed a big improvement in several areas of health.

I miss Iowa and my birds and you all.

A total of 6 buttercup chicks! Everyone that went into lockdown hatched!
We also now have 8 silver laced cochins out of 12 eggs, and 3 Mille fluer cochins out of 6 eggs.

Hi Flashpoint!

That line of birds is the friendly and loving oh and really good for showing too. I can look up where they came from if you want. I sold a bunch to countrygirl I think if you need a related male to make more lavendars. Maverick is not related to the lavendar hen.

I need to get my birds going here.

A few of the FL pics you might find of interest...

Told you I got crabs!

This is Louise the pelican and Harvey the egret. They were frequent beggars on the pier at the resort. Louise was a shy little wallflower, (just look at her pretty face). Harvey was quite a tall handsome guy! He would take shrimp gently off your fingertips.

These are 2 pics of Peter Pan. He was the handsome boy toy that Katha, the chicken lady, used for bait to attract the ladies with. He looks like a porcelain d'Uccle, and did he crow all the time. He is also a pet, kind of a shoulder bird.

Awesome Pictures! I've also stalked an egret for a photo, although it looks like your bird was begging for food! Mine wanted me to go away.

It is so hot here. I miss Iowa's four seasons. That and when a bug lands on me I have no idea if it's going to bite the p*ss out of me or leave me alone. They have big ones here.

I love Iowa. I had people that know me, buildings and geez loads of chickens runs, free range eggs...sigh.

I just need to carve out a new place! Tally ho!

Love to all!

What a funny looking comb. Great pics.
I would Iowa except for the cold. But we'd have to leave some of our parrots behind if we moved so not happening.
