IA here

I guess so! I'll probably stagger my hatch if I don't get eggs from Alexandra. I'm adding some of her Cuckoo Marans to my egg order. It's so hard to find quality Cuckoo's. (I just made myself laugh at that last comment.)

That is an excellent idea, using the seeding mats. I used to have some when I had a greenhouse.

Are you joining the New Years Day hatch then? I've got 3 dozen IaB eggs waiting to go in, plus what I collect this week. I did get the seedling mats in place to keep the eggs from freezing and it seems to be working! This means I'll have to rebuild the rest of my nest boxes though, those old 10 hole metal contraptions aren't really set up for that

Trish;
Still haven't gotten the info I requested?
After bring home the new Hampsters from IA City, thought perhaps the girl was not at POL yet but I checked today and she had 3 eggs! She could not have laid them all in one night. She must have had them hidden a bit. They really are quiet, pretty birds. The boy had a wheeze but he is getting better and his crow is coming back too. Another week and i can give them some company if they all cohabitate nicely.

A very... crisp, -14 this morning. Makes me think of Florida

. That won't be in the cards this year so will have to get used to enjoying the snow shovel rather than a sand shovel!

everyones birds okay?

We had a balmy 20 here so the chickens and turkeys are just peachy. The ducks are pretty grumpy though because the pond is frozen over. It is pretty funny to see them fly from the coop, land on the ice and slide. They complain most loudly!

The duck pool finally completely froze over so now they have taken to swimming in their 3 gallon water bowl. I think they are practicing being soup...

BTW full grown Muscovies don't really fit in a 3 gallon bowl.

I'll send Rex another email. Not sure what the deal is either. Those New Hampshires are very cool. I stopped bidding on them when I saw you were.
