Hi folks, I ordered a book on how to show chickens, so maybe I can figure out where to start. Should be interesting - I read all you show folks' posts with great envy

I told jim I'd get a picture of my Frizzle Cochin. Supposed to be from show stock, I got his egg as a bonus with some SQ Barred Rocks.

Should a blue chicken have that red on his neck?

Love the barred rocks, they are so sweet! 3 cockerels and a pullet

Anything you want to know we will try to answer. Just ask away. Do not be intimidated about showing. It is easier than you think. It just takes time.

Kari, could he be a lemon blue? If so, then he should have it.

I love a good barred rock. Used to have some and miss them. Where did you get your birds from?

It's not too late to enter the Avoca show if you are interested. My friend Cathy and I are having another chicken bathing extravaganza before the show. If you are interested, you can bring a couple over to bathe, if you have something worth showing?

At least you have 3 cockerels to choose from! I know Dee Majestric has some really nice BR's and will be at Avoca. I can put you in contact with her as well. Great lady.

I got them on ebay from rickanddonnaflorist. Not sure about the lemon blue. Guess we'll see!

hello! I'm in Des Moines. Brand new to owning chickens - just got our 6 chicks on Saturday (hatched Friday) - and are loving them so far!

Those frizzles are so funny! They always look scared!
Gregg, if you're tuned in... the Jersey Giant Club is having a meet in conjunction with the Scribner, NE double show this weekend.
The entry numbers are down a bit cause of the economy and all the recent shows but they have about 500 birds i think is what i was told.
It is a huge club meet! I cannot name all the clubs with awards at this double show.
Very warm here today but with too many irons in the fire, I was unable to wash the birds! Warm tomorrow too so will do it then.

Welcome mlabresh! Have fun with your babies.

Once again, I'm having trouble deciding who to take to the Avoca show. I go out there and second guess myself. I don't have room to take them all, or I would.
