IA here

Hi, just found this realm of BYC. I am from near Mason City. Looking very forward to Waverly this weekend.
I have White Rocks, Dominiques, Delawares, Salmon Favorelles, Buff Orps, Lavender Orps. and a barred rooster that is suppose to be an EE. Also 1 pair of Peacocks and some Muscovy ducks, 5 cats, 2 horses, and 1 very spoiled golden retriever.

Welcome Chickeemama! Hopefully we'll see you there! We'll have a blue gooseneck trailer with lots of Muscovey ducks for sale. If I have my ETPoultry sign made by then, we'll be pretty easy to find!

Welcome to BYC!
Are your Dellies LF or bantam?
It would be fun to hear some stories about your Dellies, a breed I have recently become interested in.

I spoke too soon... Ideal just called and they were short 4 pullets in the hatch so I did the next best thing and ordered 3 more cockerels. It is not perfect but the best I could do at the time w/o having to order from another source Which is still an option as well. Everyone should be just fine however. as I did allow for loss on both orders! We do what we can with what we have to work with!

Mike... The chicks should be here at 6:30 am Friday. Don't know if you're an early riser but I am usually having coffee at 5 am and you're welcome anytime. I'll be busy stuffing birds in pet taxis for WI., since we will be leaving at 11:00. I am hoping I can give them all a bath tomorrow. Taking 8 birds, only one must be in her own taxi. I'll also be wanting to get the sale birds contained as well, got a number to choose from for your kids!

Steph... I forgot to tell you, we hatched another really cute little Serama, very small. This one is black and looks just like the IA Blues, only tiny. We've never hatched a black, pure bred Serama. I am concerned about the little Serama being so small and staying healthy. Also have a little Pyncheon X Whitey. That will be interesting.

P is still hanging out on her eggs. Three of the 4 I put under her to replace the originals were duds. Can't really tell on the 4th but it looks to be developing. It is an olive egg. I put three more eggs under her just in case that one is also a dud. I will move them to an incubator if the olive egg hatches.
I need to get another serama pullet/hen or two.

Hmmm a serama with a mohawk... should be fun!

Eric,it won't be real early?I'm thinking around 9:00? it takes about a hour and 15 to get there from here. i will let you know tonight or in the morning what time i will be there.can you PM me your address.had my first Supervisor meeting last night at the Extension office, they want me to be the new poultry supervisor for the fair and assistant supervisor for goats since the current one doesn't now the rules.got some good ideas for some new things this next year.our old supervisor is steeping down after doing it for about 20 years.we had the largest turnout ever for birds this year at the fair and hoping to get bigger every year.we are hoping to go to Waverly this weekend if money happens to fall in my lap by Sunday,i have a few customers that owe me around $1000 or so. Mike

I'll have Buckeyes, SLW, GLW and Wellies in the Spring. I have a hatch due 9/26 that will include Wellies. If they hatch early, I will bring them and give you a head's up.
