IA here

Need help - does anyone have black chickens that need a new home? I think coyotes ate my black easter eggers, black austrolorps, black frizzled nakkid necks and black mixed breeds. I miss them and would like to get "replacements" to have eggs over the winter. I fixed the ripped fence area - a tree branch fell on the coop - and got the yard cleaned up so this won't happen again.... oh got rid of the cats just in case they were the ones eating my birds. It seems they just disappeared when we had those horrible winds the past week and haven't been seen since. I'm a bit heartbroken my yard is empty.
-- THANKS ---

Sorry, I've been offline a few days. I'd be interested in your Ameraucana if you want to bring her to IA City. That is if you don't want an arm and a leg for her

Hi lilandra I wish I had some that you could have. I do have one black baby chick If you would want it I do not know if it is a girl or a boy yet. It is the only IA blue that I have left. the other 5 died, when our lights went out while I was gone. This one just barely lived. I had to revive it so now it lives in the kitchen with me.
I know how you feel I lost most of my chickens last spring to a stray dog.
At least you did not give up. Good for you! Lisa

Erick I killed your chickens I am sorry. We live right out side of town. We do not have city electric. We have the rual kind it goes out alot. When it went out the IA blues would have been in total darkness, They must have freeked out. They were all wet and cold when I found them. I tried to reviev 3 of them that were still alive but only 1 lived.
It lives in the kitchen with me I am getting pretty atached to it.
non of the eggs hatched either. I had about 5 leghorn eggs in with the buttercup eggs, the leghorn eggs always hatch. non of the eggs hatched. I am blameing the electricity.
I guess I need to buy a generater. We did with out electricicty a lot last winter.

Sorry lisa

Yes I thought about that. She has not sat on any eggs here yet. should I make her a place and give her some eggs or wait until she sits on some?

I am in desperate need of a new buck rabbit if any of you know where I might find one, even a baby one will do. Thanks lisa

She won't sit unless she is ready regardless of how many eggs you give her. Unfortunately you can't force broody and this time of year they usually won't got broody.

I'm really sorry about your chicks.

Sorry you lost your chicks, Lisa! I have a batch of Buff Orpington eggs and some BBS Ameracauna eggs I could ship you if you're insterested.

that is awfully sweet of you to offer, but I think I am going to have Trish set some eggs for me in the spring when she starts filling orders - need to talk to her about that

What kind of rabbit are you looking for? I have some satin crosses that are friendly. Mommy rabbit is a red Siamese satin and daddy rabbit is a red satin angora but the babies are short soft and shinny haired red Siamese satins. They are very stout built and would make good meat rabbits. Let me know if you want to see pictures.
