IA here

I have a clear plastic storage tub in the basement with a heat light above it. I also use black, rubbermaid, rubber shelf liner for a liner as opposed to woodshavings. All I do is pull it up when poopy, clean it in the basement sink, dry it and set it back down again, no dust! When they get to be a couple week old I then move them to a brooder with a lid and a lamp in the garage until they feather. From there to a pen.
The black rubber shelf liner also holds heat too.

Did you get your crate yet, Eric? The orloffs are getting bigger andn starting to get their wing feathers. Buttercups are doing good too, haven't gotten another egg since the 2 for the first week we had them :\\ and the Iowa blues are getting big as well.

Does anyone with the Ia Blues have a pullet that is already getting a red comb? I have one that I thought was another roo, but Big Blue acts flirty around him/her. It could be that Big Blue is young and confused. He tried to mate the EE that I am even more sure is a baby roo. Of course he was backwards and mating his head

An update:

I have a feeler out already to someone who raises RIW's in WA and has eggs for sale or starts. What would be your preference if they are proper APA, SOP.
