Well everything is frozen now. The schools are delayed but not canceled. I haven't been to the farm since yesterday ,but did call Troy last night and everything was good. We had guenies, ducks, and geese move in with the hens. So we had to kick them out, just one night and they made a mess out of the shed. Everybody was in there right home by lastnight. The guenies are sooo mean to the chickens we try to keep them away. Looks kind of icky for the rest of the week.

Well, we had a nice break there though! Have to keep reminding myself it's not spring quite yet

I'm going to celebrate anyway by setting my bator up. I'll be setting this coming weekend for Spring Chicks on the equinox. I have 10 Lavender Ameraucanas from CrystalCreek

and filling up the rest with my own EEs/ BBS AMs. I'm getting 2 IA Blue eggs a day now, but I'll wait until the Easter hatch to set some of them. Everyone else is laying like crazy too so I should have plenty to choose from. Anyone else planning to hatch with me ?

Chicken Lady just left. Got the 2 dozen eggs. Set in frige and will pack later today for trip home Priority mail. She had a Porlecain D'uccle with her. He was a very gentle, handsome guy, quite a crower!

I have a couple dozen hatching egg requests already yay.
I had a shelless egg this morning it's my first. Not sure who laid it.
My tendonitis in my foot has been acting up. Guess muck boots aren't good on feet. But got everything cleaned out before it turned cold again yay.
Driving down by grinnel yesterday I saw a guy putting up coldframes in his garden.
It is still Feb.

That must be it for me too. My feet were really hurting Saturday after mucking out all the barns. We have garden fever too
