Here's hoping you get six! This is my first hatch in years. We set 12 shipped eggs on 8/15 after candling and seeing that they were shook up bad in transit. So I opted to just put them in and see what happens. I've tried to leave them alone as much as possible. I candled them on day 9 to see what was what. We tossed 4 that day which were obviously bad. 2 were oozing a little. I candled again on day 15 and tossed 2 more which were obviously quitters and the remaining 6 (#s 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 & 12) went into lock down yesterday. I 'thought' I heard a peep after locking them down but convinced myself it was all in my head because we do have a brooder with chicks in it. Well last night we got our first pip. I was shocked since I didn't expect anything till Tuesday. Just an hour or so ago I noticed the pip hole is bigger and I can see a beak moving inside the hole. So I sure hope these babies make it and we get a couple healthy chicks. Waiting is torture but the experience is wonderful.
