I agree, that is a pretty harsh blanket statement. I know there are plenty of people who REALLY love their dogs who are feeding them Dog Chow and Ol' Roy. Just because their food isn't ideal doesn't mean they don't love their dogs just as much as you do.

Really? No other choice? I don't believe THAT for a second...but if it makes you feel better....
It doesn't take a lot of space to store OR a lot of $$$ to buy. Sure it is not as convenient as a bag sitting in the corner but if you have a dog you should care for that dog properly. IMO that means feeding what dogs eat naturally. The dog and the wolf have the exact same digestive system. Period. Dogs do better on a raw meat/bones/organs diet. Period. I know, I did the dog food dance for a decade or better.
And yes, there are many grain-free kibbles now. It is a recent development in response to the fact that people are slowly but surely realizing that dogs are not omnivores. Trying to improve it is pretty pointless however. And kibble all the time is cruel. No way around it. Once you start feeding appropriately you will understand. There is nothing like watching a dog go at a large piece of meat. They are in heaven and doing what nature intended. Their bodies become healthier from not constantly having to excrete toxins and junk the body does not need and is not equipped to handle. It is really quite incredible, regardless of its simplicity.
We learn and we change and try to do better. In my experience those who become defensive usually need to change the most.

It is even WORSE when people feed their cat kibble. Since they are true, obligate carnivores and cannot digest plant based foods. And the most meat laden kibble still has that plant based 'glue' to hold it all together. Not to mention the fact that cats are also designed to get nearly all of their daily water from their food, since they were domesticated from desert cats. Thousands of years of domestication hasn't change that part of their physiology, and kibble is the number one reason why so many cats die of renal diseases because of chronic dehydration damaging the renal system..

I disagree with you. Feeding your dog kibble only is NOT cruel. It might be your opinion, but it is not fact. RAW might be better for a dog (and I have no doubt that it is). but feeding a dog a healthy kibble is certainly NOT cruel. You are entitled to your opinion but don't come on here calling all of us good, responsible dog lovers cruel because we don't feed the same diet that you do. that is horribly judgmental and also a good way to get people to not even respect or listen to your opinions.
