Are 1 and 2 both 1588's? Take one of the thermometers out of bator 1 and see what it reads in bator 2. If it reads the same, call the manufacture tomorrow, get them to send you another and when it arrives, switch the eggs out.
What day are you on in #1 and #2, and how many eggs do you have in each? Maybe you can move the eggs from #2 into number 1 (if you have room) till the new bator gets here.
Chicks that just hatch aren't jumping anywhere. They are flopping around like half drown wet mice. (not that I've ever seen half drown wet mice, but I can imagine)
Oh, keep eggs away from the sides when you move them to the hatcher. and get those pipe cleaners and make those rings to put under the eggs to keep them from being bowled around.
The hatched chicks knock things around like crazy and they have to flop all the way around the perimeter of the bator. I don't know why, they just do, so it's a good idea to keep stuff away from the sides. I leaned my thermometer, that came with the bator, up against the side. BAD IDEA. They had to go behind it for some reason, and that clear plastic it's mounted on really confused them.
