Instead of creating a bunch of different threads I just post it all in one lol

first thing, I go out to the Coop today to check on the water. and there is Zeke walking with a huge chunk of ice stuck to his belly, I had to put warm water on my hand to get it off, thing was stuck on there good

second. I sometimes sit on a milk crate in the coop, it's nice to just sit there and have conversations with them, they don't judge me ha.
So the newest thing, as soon as I sit down all 4 of my ducks come running over and just start chatting away to me like they are either tattling on each other or telling me about their day.

Zeke's new thing is to run fast and boop my chicken in the butt. weirdo. not attacking her just boop

Zeke and Louie still have their tiff's I have separated them and will let them be together as long as I am near and they have mellowed a lot now and then there is about a few seconds of pushing and shoving.. Sally my NH RED hen, thinks it's her job to jump on top of them and try to break it up. so I am out there one day just trying to separate all of them. If I pick up Louie to take him away from Zeke, Zeke will grab my leg really quick like hey give him back I wasn't done.

and lastly.. where the heck is spring the last 2 days here has been the coldest all season. my heated water bowls even froze up..

I'm tired of this cold and snow also. Only we are forecast for another 6" on Saturday night. We have over 2 feet of snow on the ground now. My chickens have not left the coop since we got our first 6 inches on the ground. The pop door is opened every day so they can go out...

Do you turn your crate on its side when your not there, so they don't poop where you sit?

There is nothing more relaxing than sitting down and chat with your ducks! - But, you're a lucky guy: Two of my grown up girls blame me for everything bad that has ever happened to them, be it that no ducklings have ever hatched out of their wooden eggs, the water is frozen or somebody just pooped into their straw…
And yes: I am so done with winter! Fortunately the forecast is predicting no more frost for the next 4 weeks after this weekend, so i might be able to let my Spring Ducklings loose early next week…

South? - Houston is in the south! - It was lousy cold here the last four nights, i was worried about my ducklings but they did fine. Today it started to warm up a bit, but now it is snowing again… :he

When I critter sat year ago for a buddy, he had a folding seat attached to the wall of one of his coops....sure wish I had snagged that when he moved away, but then again don't really have a wall to attach it too.
