That looks good you can stay warm. I have froze my rear end off ice fishing sitting on a bucket brrrr. The ice houses look great van even better.

No! Don’t do that! Driving on a lake (even if frozen) IS crazy!

Driving on a frozen lake in Alabama is DEFINITELY crazy. It would even be crazy in WV. But further north, it really isn't all that crazy. It is actually safer than fishing on a boat.

we got skunked..

When we first got out the wind was from the SW...when we left it was from the NE.. I knew a front was coming, with the coming storm. I had hoped to get there to get the heavy bite before the front. I think we were a couple hours too late.

So sorry you didn't get any fish, but at least you got to go fishing!! ( I don't think this southern girl could fish in that temp, I could hunt though. )

I thought I would post a couple pictures of our ice fishing... I am fishing as I post these.

Normally, I set up a ice house...but today it is below zero... and we have a blizzard coming. So we just drove out here on the lake and drilled some holes. Then set up some tip ups..

Yeah, going out on the lakes in northern states in your car is very safe when the ice is thick enough. Although, a few years ago I was at some snow sculpting thing that my mom was judging and a whole bunch of cars that decided to park out on the ice fell through.

Pretty lazy of them, just could not take the time to find a parking spot so they all hearded up on the ice. Of course this is a lot more than a few cars and from what I remember it had not been extremely cold that week.
