Ice fishing

I think my favorites are Walleye, perch and northern. But truth be known, it's all good. Bass and grouper follow in that list... And lake trout is somewhere in the middle. OK, I just like fish.

Cy, I had a blast hanging out and snorkeling at your namesake. There were odd complications (chicken pox) but it all worked out. Reminded me a bit of home alone 2 and the room service bill. :barnie

Aw we were so hungry when I was a kid we gutted them tore of the tail and fins and fried them up right there on the ice. No fancy boning.

My father told me one time we were so poor we used to have fried rabbit whiskers for supper. I believed him for a long time. Longer that the Santa thingy.

We had to fish bullheads from the river for food, when I was a kid. We had a river running through the farm, until the fed stole it to make it a playground for rich city folks..........( any more comment on this could cause me to cuss).

We wouldn't want that. You'd get your hand slapped I'm sure.
BTW have you ever had fried rabbit whiskers.

Ok. I might have lied on one of these pictures...I thought I had some from the Holm's Mnchickmom family trip, but I guess I was too busy catching fish to take pictures.

This is the WW taking pictures as I was busy fishing.

Northern Michigan or Yupper territory?
A little bit of both! My grandparents' home backed up on the National Forest and the Manistee was within hiking distance, so we worked both sides! Spent many an afternoon at Sleeping Bear and up in The Reserves, too. Nowadays, the farthest north we get is a bit beyond Davison. I hope to make another trip for old times sake, though ... but definitely not til summer!
