Ice fishing

Yeah, going out on the lakes in northern states in your car is very safe when the ice is thick enough. Although, a few years ago I was at some snow sculpting thing that my mom was judging and a whole bunch of cars that decided to park out on the ice fell through.

Pretty lazy of them, just could not take the time to find a parking spot so they all hearded up on the ice. Of course this is a lot more than a few cars and from what I remember it had not been extremely cold that week.
I've been on Geneva several times, but never when the water's hard. Son's up there & has been on the ice a few times. At least all those vehicles on the bottom make good Crappie structure.

All that freezing your butt off for no good reason. Smh.
I never froze my butt off Ms Southie..

We have these nifty things in our vehicles up here called heaters...

I just set it to the desired temp and I am warm..Warm enough I sat and drank tea, the WW drank a couple beers... and we listened to music from pandora over the bluetooth to the car radio...

I only was outside the car to drill holes and check the holes for ice..

It was a good time and the chance of eating fresh fish made it even better...

I will be setting up my ice house the next time I go you can see what that is like inside and out. I only have a small one but there are many larger ones, some are even luxury houses, but I being an old poor retired guy cannot afford them.

https://www.geteskimo.com/quickfish-shelters I only have the 3i It is good for 2 people.

If you want to fish in luxury look at these:

And yes they are pulled out on the ice with a truck...and very seldom does any one break through...those that do are idiots and driving across running water most the time. That is a no-no for those wishing to see tomorrow.

i love ice fishing, as for 4-5 months a year its the only type of fishing we get.

going for pike with them tip ups?

where i live lots of people use old campers and turn them into ice shacks to fish in lol.
Yep, I was going for Northerns... the thing you guys call “pike”. They are one of my favorite fried fish. I prefer them to walleye (pickerel, for you). A couple weeks ago while fishing with Holm we got a crappie on the tip up...Holm pulled it up.. when tip up fishing it is kind of a community event. The same person setting the tip up may not be the one to pull them up.

haha, ya we call them northern pike or pike for short.

not sure who calls them pickerel here, as most people say walleye. but am in western Canada might be different in the east.
