Wow! Kathy,my wife would divorce me if I gave her a $400 receipt for feed! or anything else!lol My hens are pretty fickel about laying to. They good ,but at every weather change they stop. I always wondered how they could do that! Looks like if the eggs were comming off regularly that they wouldn't be able to stop at just anytime they choose! Looks like they would build up inside them!lol
It was rainy here again today but they freeranged betwenn showers. Its funny the topknot hens have big floppy combs and the straight comb,no tuff hens have little combs. FReyer the roo is getting prettier all the time since he started getting wet and washed off the caked on dirt he came with.
Yeah one of my serama hens layed her first eggs this week!I am so getting hatching fever! And its not even Christmas yet!lol
Well if its not pouring too hard tomorrow and I can take some pics I will of the crew in their new pen. NOT promising anything. Long day today, sitting here doing the last of the email, a glass of Sangria close, two Purrkids on the lap and winding down.
The neighbor came over awhile ago, he snoweshoed a mile down the road and then 200 yards up my steep drive to tell me that there is a tree down near my van, so I will slosh down in the morn and see what the situation is. Good neighbors here, he had a better then two mile walk, literally, in snowshoes to tell me. Hard to find neighbors as good as I am blessed with.
One thing I saw this afternoon is that Bjorn my June 1rst hatch rooster that I kept because he was the largest of his hatch is now the largest of the 3 roosters. But still has a good temperament, he has the same color pattern as Blau except that where Blau is blue Bjorn is black. Blackbreasted redbacked duckwing. Both have small white tufts at the base of their tails. Isi is Isi, white splash, or pyle , take your pick , he is gorgeous, and Flock Master. The only one at this time with a SC.
So, wine is low, and I am getting ready to be, not yet 8 but will be nine by the time I finish, and 430 comes early every morn, thats when the Purrkids start playing King of the Mountain on me.
Enjoy,
