Icelandic Chickens

AAARGH!

Got my Icees from Chickielady. ALL the cockerels are so lovely, how can I choose which 3 to keep. Always supposing MGSU will let me keep more than one. He wasn't happy when I told him I was getting them (late last night, but after some wine), he doesn't like them.

Oh well, I don't need to decide until Saturday.

See, without "The Standard" all I have to go on is how pretty they are

There ya go!!!! Sounds like a great idea to me. It is great for those people who must have something to see, yet at the same time it says, just about anything goes! I like it!

And while this may seem a bit redundant, there are some "stupid" people out there, so

Legs: 2, one on each side and APPROXIMATELY THE SAME LENGTH AND WEIGHT, BOTH THE SAME COLOR.

Same for wings, one on each side, set in same place, same size etc.

Tail: rumplessness a DQ

"cus, ya know someone will come along and say, "Well it's not in the SOP, so my Hunchback, one legged tailless bird is fine!"

So true! So true! Yes, we must add that!

ICELANDICS

Comb: Single, rosecomb, double or any combination of these. Upright or floppy accepted. Red in color.
Crest: heavy, sparse, or absent.
Earlobes: two, white in color.
Eyes: Two; prominent, expressive and attractive.
Beak: strong, tapering, slightly curved.
Plumage: Feathers must be white, red, orange, gray, pink, black, blue, yellow, brown, or a combination. Mottled, barred, penciled, laced, or any combination acceptable.
Wings: two; one on each side, each of equal size.
Shanks and toes: 4 toes on each foot. Two legs, each being approximately the same length and color. Legs set well apart, straight when viewed from front. Shanks may be heavily feathered, sparsely feathered or clean.
Tail: good length, carried at an angle.

Nice Kathy! I wonder how long it will take for me to get the first message about there being no stand for Icelandics.

Speaking of which, eyes, has anyone ever paid real close attention to color variations in their eyes?
I have noticed dark brown (chestnut, not deep brown as in Javas or Australorps) gold, red/orange....anyone seen any others?
