Icelandic Chickens

The neighbor just came by and told me he thought we did a great job on the fence. He thinks it looks nice and straight and taut! And yes, Jack and Diana are loving it until we close the gate on them. Whenever that happens if at all.

That is a great addition to your pasture! It is so nice to be able to rotate the pastures they get worn in the summer. Diane and Jack are gonna love you even more!

Great job Sheriff! It looks nice.

Some of my sisters helped me get a lot of T-post in the ground for our bull calves. We put the T-posts through the field and down the ravine in the thick woods, and over the creek two times at the bottom of the ravine, then up the very steep ravine, then finally out of the woods, and through the fields again. We are not done for we were very tired of pounding the post, cutting bushes, making sure that the posts are 25 feet apart, dragging the steel posts, and climbing the ravine. Our arms are very sore.

Our 5 months old puppy is very pooped out too. Tomorrow we will finish putting in the T-post, and will put the insulators for the barb wire, and the fence will be electrified when we are done. I wish I can do like you did on the map to show where we put the fencing.

I finished the cow shed today. All the stuff that we use to build the cow shed came from the backyard. Cost to build the shed- nothing!!

Yep, there's an easement for him to use that driveway to access his house. Right where the green line meets the red line we are going to add a gate so we can use the upper portion of his driveway which is on our property to access that lower pasture. I think we need an exit exit in case of fire.

Daron, Sounds like you are keeping busy!! Pounding t-post is a tough job! The calf shed looks great!

Any pips on your Icelandic eggs yet?

The dawn is here, and is going outside now to work on the fence.

shepherd x lab is my guess! She very pretty.....train her now that the calves and chickens "belong" to her and are NOT her "toys".
