Icelandic Chickens

47 degrees here right now. I can't complain about that. I will really enjoy Sunday and Monday in the 60s.

I am having a hard time navigating today. Can barely get around and it is taking forever. I have ordered a new computer, just because I needed to do that. Hopefully, that will help me get around on this site a bit easier.

We only have one computer and I was not able to get on it, so I was trying to use my smartphone. That sucked! I gave up!

I've noticed that this morning, the site is slower than normal.

I've used multiple computers and multiple browsers.

Guess I'll just need to get used to "the way it is".

Maybe they are working on it

and that is why it's slower than usual. When I was trying to post a pic for Dar on the NYD hatch thread yesterday, it took two tries to get it uploaded. I'm going to try the same pics here to see

Here are Disa (l) and Drifa, full sisters, Audun/Asta, hatched July 30/31 >>

That was really quick......maybe they are done!

No it is not quick, dumb planning, all of the graphics on the site have to be reloaded for each entry, very poor layout planning, makes it clunky.

The tool bar with the options for posting just now, for the first time showed up.

Even that takes way longer then the previous format.

Still winter here, much more winter in AK, big snow on the southern third of the country and north and west incredible winds blowing 60-80mph, at -20 to -30 thats an incredible windchill, really discourages the beach partys.

Life goes on, enjoy everyone,

Life is good and better with Icelandic Chickens

Jake, Good to see you here! Many of us were wondering where you were!
It's winter here too, just not as bad as yours and Michelle's!
What kind of connection do you have out there Jake?

Hi Jake, thought you were hibernating but, you love the bitter cold. I guess Sergei won't be coming to visit then will he????

You are right re: new BYC - it is clunky, redundant, need I go on? More is not always better - how many of us will ever use, or figure out how to use, all the super, over-the-top bonus features??

I would love to have the OLD homepage restored - it was streamlined compared to the new stuff.

Welcome back Jake. We missed you!

I set 30 Icelandic eggs a few days ago and just candled. Fertility is 70%. That is so weird because the batch before this one was 30% and Kelly's was 30% too. Anyway I will continue to incubate them for a local buyer and see what happens with the next batch.
With Little Man gone a couple of days the three young cockerels have been busy. Every time I look out there I see someone getting it on.

Isi is not doing his share the last few days. He is fighting through the fence with my Isbar roo, Bjorn, because Lukka is in that yard with her Barnevelder babies. As soon as I confirm they are roos, I will probably move her back to the Icelandic area. She mostly just sleeps with the babies at night anyway and they do their own thing during the day. I am sure Isis wants her back asap.
