Icelandic Chickens

Those little piggy butts and screw tails are so darn stinkin cute. I know Mary wouldn't eat them. And for gosh sakes who would eat an EMU? Mary just has those for eye candy. Right?

I am posting a video on my website tonight if it ever gets done uploading! Cripes still and hour and a half left. It has lots of nice shots of my Icelandics, in fact all but three of them are in the video where they are coming out the door in the morning. The photos were taken this week and the video in the last three days. It will be in the most recent post called My Welcome Wagon. This is going to sound stupid but with the music I added it makes me cry every time I see it. I just feel so blessed to have survived this long and get to be here everyday and share a special bond with these amazing creatures. DH thinks it is just because I feed them but I don't think so. Let me know what you think.

There are some sweet shots of Isi and Lukka. What a love story that is. I may have to write an article about them for backyard poultry or something. Should have done it for Valentine's Day. They have been inseparable since her return from broody duty. Every morning while she was up in the Isbar yard Isi ran straight up the hill to see her as soon as I opened the door. They walked the fence line for hours together, on opposite sides of course. Dang, just typing that made me cry. I need to take a Xanax and go to bed.

You are making me cry, and I haven't even seen it yet.

I can hardly wait now.
