Silly Icelandic Babies.

I went outside to lock up the grow out coop where I have 18 juveniles living. I couldn't believe my eyes, all 18 were crammed together on one roost. Why, you ask?

Because they want to be under the heat lamp?

Noooo, it isn't plugged in.

Why? Because it is an inch higher than the other one!

I made so much racket opening the door to take the picture that some of them hopped down, but here they are. Can you find all 18?

Oh, and Kelly, yes I see the combs on the two white ones facing forward!

OMG, those white ones look like Delawares! How am I ever gonna find my lost Icelandic baby now?

NO, I only counted 17. Where is # 18?

See the foot under the empty roost between the white chicken and the brown one laying down?

It looks like I am going to have some beautiful crests on some of these. The blue color on the one is the foreground is so pretty. I just love these guys. But, you knew that.

It's hard to part with them, isn't it? I want to see how each and every one turns out. I have several eggs in the bator. I can hardly wait to see them! I really want to keep more than I know I should. Each one is so unique and beautiful.

I think you should mark each chick with a number on their head in felt pen. Then photograph each one. Post them here and let the BYCers find your Icelandic for you!

Maybe you could offer a Brinsea Advance EX as a reward.

I can do it. It is just gonna take a little more time than I thought. I just thought it was gonna be easier than it is ..... because of those pictures you just posted, I know it will take a tad bit longer.
