Icelandic Chickens

I can't believe I haven't posted in almost two days!! An extra day of work this week and soooo much to do outside this time of the year........

Kathy and Mary, My DH keeps talking about switching our internet from Verizon Wirless to Hughes Net.....I keep telling him NO!...but he insists Verizon isn't worth what we pay for it.....I think it's great from everything I've heard from you two!! Our options out here are very limited.

Kathy,

to your solution.

Great goat kid pics everyone.......I have a local friend with dairy goats and love to go see the kids!

Jake, Sounds like you're going to be ready to handle whatever is thrown at you! Good luck with the move!

Where are the pics of my "grand chicks"?! Mahonri, joyous, karimw.......I'm talkin' to you!

Hi Mary

No, its unbelieveable the tangled regs to get through in taking the goats through Canada, and then back in to the US in Alaska, so they are rehomed. My vet is searching now through the USDA regs on brining the chickens back into Alaska, if possible I would rather take them with me then ship them to me. So will see whichever works out the simpler.

Life goes on.

Mary I have Verizon, for my internet, and my cellphone, and my monthly bill is just under $100/month.

Hughes was much more, and not available everywhere dispite the ads, I have used my laptop enroute to Wa in my van, and used it all winter in Wa, no problems, and I am told it will be available in AK.

Not much comparison to me. Hughes as far as I know is the priciest service in the country.

Jake I hope the move goes well and that the Icelandics will handle the weather. Keep in mind that Iceland, even though it is 66 degrees North (like parts of Alaska), it is an island and farmland doesn't get much colder than 10's and 20's in the winter :)

I think someone had asked for more pics of my light greyblue pullet with the brown collar (Skráma) so here is one. She's almost 4 months old now:

Mary, with any luck I will be able to send you pictures of grand chicks this weekend. No Dreki babies this weekend but next weekend there should be. This weekend is Bjarthur's pen.

200 posts later, and I am caught up.

HOW I WISH I could keep a roo. It makes me very sad.

I've loved all of the pics, videos and the miracles.

Thanks for keeping Icelandics PURE! That's all I'll say.

I know that Boston and I will keep the Arizona flock pure.

Boston now has a HUGE flock of Icelandics in Heber, AZ

I also have a goodly number but will probably be rehoming roos unless they look SPECTACULAR and then they'll go to Heber.
