Icelandic Chickens

I can see it just fine. What fun. Kathy you could sell tours "walk with emus," Fred and Wilma t shirts, they whole experience. Looks like they are starting to loose their stripes and getting grown up coloring. Am I right?

Hi Jake, sounds like a good plan for Alaska! Hope everything goes well, happy to hear featherleggeds are getting some love :) I'm sure if any bird can handle Alaska it's the Icies, especially the sort you are selecting for! Best of luck, look forward to the updates :)
Hi Icelander

Yes, I know I am pushing the edge on them from Iceland to Alaska, they will have good winter shelter up there, plus concentrating on crested, featherlegged, rose combed ones to help in whatever way it can be, time will tell.

Thanks for sharing the video, beautiful flock ! I noticed not many RCs though. Interesting that.

Funny thing was, as they were crowing my puppys in their crate were looking at the puter table and around it for where the chickens were ! They have seen and heard them outside and then they couldnt figure out where they were in here, it was really funny. Now they are dozing again.

Life is good, and better with Icelandic Chickens !

Just wanted to show off the next three babies from Lukka's staggered hatch that I took away from her. This picture was taken just after the second from the left hatched after starting to zip while still on the auto-turner!

I gave the last two eggs, which look ready to pip, to an Icelandic hen who went broody a few days ago. Raven, my broody Ameraucana should hatch three Isbar eggs tomorrow or Monday. Broody-itis is sweeping the country!
