Okay, I'm back after being somewhat gone.

I've finished all my classes at our County Fair. I'm big into the competitions in the Home Arts building (preserved foods, baking and a few others). I did well, certainly can't complain. In canned goods, I got 12 firsts and 4 seconds with my 16 entries. Also best canned grape product in show (sponsored by the local grape growers assn.). In baked goods, the top four entries were up for BIS, I had three of them. I got BIS (lemon meringue pie, 3rd year in a row for that pie recipe), RBIS (brownies) and I also had angelfood cake up. I also won the overall sweepstakes. My eggs won a 2nd and two 3rds in large classes. I made goat milk cheese for the first time (ricotta), no place but a class of ten with mozzarella, feta, queso fresca, etc. All in all, a great fair.

Add to that, a week ago one of the dogs ran under the table, caught her leg on the wire to the laptop and yanked it off the table......

.......no computer. It sounded okay, but no display. I didn't have time to do anything because of fair, so had to borrow a laptop from my son (otherwise I can't pay bills, etc.). Yesterday we went to visit the Geek Squad at Best Buy. it is just the display, I can still get to my files.

I can't tell you how happy I am. I have 1000's of photo files on there, including some competition photos. All my pictures from my travels through Central/South America, the Amazon, etc, etc. Were any of them backed up? NO, I'm the queen of procrastination. You never think it will happen to you, there is always still time to back up those files.............NOT! Anyway, I now have a shiney, new, FAST laptop.

In the meantime, chickens kept eating, chicks kept hatching, eggs kept pipping (a serama this morning) and here I am back on the computer messing around

I have to head out to take care of my frogs (yes, those too).
