Icelandic Chickens

These are beautiful!!! I love the story and would love to also be put on that list for some eggs....I also have rare and hertiage breeds....These would be wonderful to add to our stock...Keep up the good work!!!

Yohanna explaines that any color patterns go, her patterning is marbled,(lacing,marbled,mottled,stippled,pied,zig-zag,or any combinations of these) Thats what makes them unique-plus you can not breed for certain color but the mottled pattern. Yohanna also states that you can somewhat determine your hen offspring by mother hen chest color,but only to the females or pullets chest feathers(who knows)I have hatched over 1000 chickens but,3 where my favorites one black with yellow around the eyes,one was tan with black marbing, both with huge top nots they looked road runners!The other was blue like a aldulsian chicken(bad spelling)

Here are the combatants, baby Brahma on the right, baby Icelandic on the left. Had the fight been allowed to continue, I would have put my money on the Icelandic!
