See the Church at the top of that hill that is North West of Jerusalem? That is where the Prophet Samuel was buried.

The Israeli Knesset is the square building on the right

The Beehive like structure on the left houses parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls... there is a fascinating exhibit inside this cooled structure.

Below, the shepherds fields of Bethlehem... we were near one of the shepherd caves at this point.

Bethlehem artist making carvings out of Olive Wood from Bethlehem.

Near the grotto believed to be the birthplace of Jesus.

Coffee shop in Bethlehem

At the Western Wall of the Temple Mount.

Golgotha... near the Garden Tomb

Jerusalem from the top of the Mt. of Olives.

Magnificent Organ inside the auditorium at the BYU Jerusalem Center. I've listened to many organs in my life, this one is the absolute best I've ever heard.

Just lost my banner.. :-(

Where we had our Church meetings and partook of the Sacrament (like communion) on shabbat...the Jewish Sabbath... Saturday for us.

This auditorium overlooks the city of Jerusalem from the foothill of the Mt of Olives, called Mt. Scopus.

On the road from Jerusalem to Jericho. From this vantage point you can see Jericho and the Jordan River Valley in the distance, if you turned around you would see the mountains of Jerusalem and the buildings on the top of the Mt. of Olives. Here we read the parable of the Good Samaritan. It brings substance to the Holy Bible.

That's me (with the cap and the blue plaid shirt), going down into Hezikiah's tunnel. King David's engineers built this tunnel to bring water to "The City of David". Our Israeli tour guide is the blue shirt on the left. DW is in between me and the brunette in the foreground.

Cave #4 at Qumran where the first of the Dead Sea Scrolls was discovered. Am I boring you all yet?

Jordan River where it leaves the Sea of Galilee.... Jesus was baptized much further south near it's entrance into the Dead Sea.

Ancient Roman aqueduct that brought water from the highlands to Caesarea by the Mediterranean Sea.

Holy shrine of the Armenian Apostolic Church at the Church of the Nativity in Bethelem.

I've literally got 100s more..... but it's time for bed!

Mahonri - Amazing photos, that must have been an incredible trip.

Its nice to the Sheriff's rebuilding off to a good start, and the little poult movie was cute.

Its good to see Daron's rebuild going well, too.

We lost an Icelandic hen over the weekend, she got locked into a feed storage area Saturday morning, I found her Sunday morning, it was about 104 here Saturday, not certain how hot it would have gotten in the little closet area. On the upside it appears we have a broody, I don't know how many eggs she is sitting on, but they don't all fit under her. She's up in the hay-mow so we'll have to move her if she is serious.

Great job on Lukka, Mary!
Kelly, stop by and see us if you can! :frow Have fun on the trip!

Hey Daron - had a set of twin Icelandic lambs. Both boys ugh

Well, at least they were born alive and healthy. :D What are you going to to with them?

Dar, Thank you for posting those!  Looking at photos will be as close as I ever get to going there.  It looks as though you got to see alot of the country.  What a wonderful trip for you and your wife!

X2!

Importation update: All the tests have come back negative! I'll pick up the eggs and the precious health certificate up tomorrow and they will fly with me to the US. I'll be bringing 40 eggs, which is way more than my current backyard homestead set-up can handle. Thank God I will have 3 weeks to figure everything out.

Still can't believe everything worked out and this is really happening, it's been a lot of work but the USDA inspector has indicated that I have everything in order and that I should not have any trouble passing inspection and customs on the US side.

This process is incredibly time consuming and expensive, not surprised people have been put off from doing this.
