Icelandic Chickens

Kelly mentioned this, and I was wondering, too ..... wonder if it may turn out to look mottled.

That would be fun!

Can't wait to see!

No, I haven't tried it. I read that it only works on certain "large fowl," only.

I will give it a try this next week when I hatch.

Usually, I just wait til Kelly comes along and sexes them (online), ya know?

Kelly loves giving you and Mary the "good news", she'll be on here shortly to critique your pics.....

Since you are hatching every-other-day you might as well give it a shot!!

I love all the different colors you are getting.......maybe the black and white one will look like your mullit-colored mottled one.......is it Sunna? Do any look like they are getting a crest? My two girls don't have them but I think the boys will add some to my chicks....I hope so anyway!

What a great job everyone is doing with this breed. They look wonderful. I haven't read all of the posts but the pics over the last while are great. Mary when this thread first started I was in awe with the story. I have always wanted a crested breed but not polish. How hard would it be to get eggs from someone? I see Kathy lives closer to me but it is way to cold here at this time. I'll keep reading as this keeps going.

Here are my two recent Icelandic additions. A black/brown and a yellow, 4 days old here. Crossing my fingers for a boy and a girl.
