Fostering is worth a try. Is she in a nest in your main coop? Is it a good place to put the chicks? If not, you need to move her now, before you try and put the chicks under her, so she can settle into the "new nest". Try to transition the chicks as soon as possible after they are born and do it at night if at all possible.They are a LONG ways away. 45 minute drive at minimum....
... it may not work. I've always got the Laree Brooder as backup, but it certainly would be nice to have a broody mama raise them.

I've only hatched ship eggs once, 3/8 hatched. It was also my first attempt at hatching. I don't know who has eggs available right now, all my breeds are free ranging together.I've been following (lurking) on here for quite a while and really love everything these guys bring to the show. They're hardy, colorful and full of personality. I'm thinking I need to find eggs to hatch .. If the ship well. Any advice?
