Icelandic Chickens

Awwww cute little babies! :) Glad everything went okay!

Mike, in reference to your earlier question, most people around here call it white death. I'm happy to have the snow, though.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Hi, Dar!! Does Boston still have Icelandics? Maybe you could get some eggs to hatch for the Easter Hatchalong and give him the chicks afterward!
No chicks until the Easter Hatchalong for me. There is no snow (I heard you got some down there!

) but too cold for chicks until spring arrives!

Here is Audun and Eldey (these pic taken on Christmas Eve day). Audun is the cock I got from Mary (The Sheriff) 4 1/2 years ago (I still have my original two Icelandic hens). Eldey is 2 1/2.

Not a good pic, but this is Gola and her pullet hatched end of September. Gola is a granddaughter of kathyinmo's Kola.

Here is Cupcake. She was hatched from eggs from coldupnorth's flock. She is 1 1/2.

I truly appreciate the ice cold weather, the neighbors dog has been dropping piles all in a row- by the side of our house. It's so much easier to remove poopsicles than steamy, fly embossed, heaps. Then I dump some cayenne pepper in the spots to remind her not to do it again there. I do love the dog it's not her fault, someone used to pick up after her.Now not so much. Sorry didn't mean to be gross. But I haven't had a dog since 1989 and I still end up picking up after one dog or another.
