More news, Skye, my wheaten Ameraucana went broody today. I turned off the incubator and put the six eggs in it under her. She now has four of her own eggs from her romance with Thurston and 2 of my BCM eggs and Thurston. So she'll only have to sit a week before they hatch.
BTW, Thurston attacked Skye and grabbed her wing and dragged her across the yard last week. Then I grabbed him and he made the one-way trip to the feed store.
Tonight when I went to lock up the Icelandics, my Lukka-look-a-like is trying to brood in the roll out box again. I may have another broody. If she is, I'll let her sit on two or three eggs and take the rest out as they are laid by others. She's a first timer. I am down there several times a day so it shouldn't be too hard to manage.
