Kelly was here visiting and we were sitting on the couch when we observed Stella leaving home again.

I put out an APB after Kelly left and went searching the neighborhood for her. On my travels I took this picture of the wild cranes at my neighbor's pond.

Oh, and I took this picture of a hamburger I made.

Oh and this really yellow egg yolk from one of Stella's eggs.

You want more? Because I also got a picture of a neighbor's dog crapping on my lawn.

p.s. Stella came home.

Warden,

I have the two little viking babies still hanging out here with my "big 'uns" and I am wondering how you tell a girl from a boy?

I am darn sure the dark one I have is a boy, but the other is confusing me! she/he has quite a comb and tiny waddles but they are pale compared to her/his brother who has a big comb and waddles that are bright red. Have you had any girls with large combs? I'm just being impatient, I cant wait for them to grow up!

Thanks!
Rachael

PS I love seeing all your photos on this thread!!!

More news, Skye, my wheaten Ameraucana went broody today. I turned off the incubator and put the six eggs in it under her. She now has four of her own eggs from her romance with Thurston and 2 of my BCM eggs and Thurston. So she'll only have to sit a week before they hatch.

BTW, Thurston attacked Skye and grabbed her wing and dragged her across the yard last week. Then I grabbed him and he made the one-way trip to the feed store.

Tonight when I went to lock up the Icelandics, my Lukka-look-a-like is trying to brood in the roll out box again. I may have another broody. If she is, I'll let her sit on two or three eggs and take the rest out as they are laid by others. She's a first timer. I am down there several times a day so it shouldn't be too hard to manage.
