Icelandic Chickens

My beautiful new additions, Snow and Romeo! No, I did not leave them in with the others. I just wanted some pictures of the 8 together. Such a wide variety! Anyway, they have their own new apartment.

Romeo is very nice looking.

I still only have 1 pip, and it has only expanded it's hole just a little bit. But I'm sure it jumped the gun so I am content to let it finish a little more before making a grand entrance. I'm hopeful we will start seeing progress in the morning. I was nervous about the borrowed bator that I am using as a hatcher, it's a homemade job but my friend Margie has run 100's of eggs through it so I'm not sure why I'm worried

Tonight I need to do some rearranging. The baby brooder is full of 2 week olds who need to move out to the upper level in the garage. Once they are moved, a quick scrub and refill with fresh bedding and it'll be ready for the newbies

Michelle,
I just did the rearranging thing, too! I do it every 2 weeks, actually!

Here is this weeks hatch (around 100), before shipping out today.... Only 28 left here, and a gal is coming tomorrow for a few of those.
Pardon the poop. I wanted one last picture before they all left home.

I am so glad you like him because it was hard to pick since I have three so similar. He had the best hairdo!

but I do like his colors, though Isi is still my poster guy,

a taste of spring in the air here in Northern MI, above freezing this morn, two days in a row, we're on a roll !

I always used to use newspapers in the brooder, but the paper towels sure seem a better idea, my hatcher temp is seemingly stuck on 95 got to get more out of it, its sitting right next to the Hovabator with the fan and turner which is nailed right on 100. Need to do some fiddling. Humidity is right on 39, an advantage to having them in a 'fish room'.

Life is good !!
