The icelandics look like a nice breed.

If i can tell you all one thing....

do not let this breed get down to only 10 flocks!!! I am dealing with this problem now. i think i am the only flock out side of Alberta (well there is the AC but that is closed flock...)

Also may i suggest pair breeding? i am sure you peeps do this already though

Ducky, the Icelandics are amazing, a wide variety of sizes, shapes and colors, they are hardy and resiliant and can survive in a variety of climates. Did you see all my pictures? I have some posted on FB too.

And, might I say, you grammer and spelling are excellent

OMG I have an overachiever. Last two days one of my girls has laid a huge egg. Todays egg is only 0.1 ounce from being classified as JUMBO! You go girl! Well, actually, you go Jake! They are being packed for shipping to you! We'll be looking for BIG crests on these two!

Here is it next to the average size Icelandic egg.

It's a handful. Note to self: Apply hand lotion.

couldnt be a double yoker, must be a triple !

I am going to put it in a special place in the incubator to watch closely ! Gotta be some good genes in that one !

Ducky asked earlier if anyone was going to be pairing and I will be, after they are grown out this fall, then they are going into pair and trio pens, I want to get as many Roos producing next spring as I can" diversity , maintaining of it, 101. By next summer I will know which roosters to keep, I will have a couple 4H'ers looking for a start.

This going to be a really fun project !!

I have a 4H group coming out here this coming weekend (or is it next weekend?). Anyway, the 4H leader is leaning towards education on the Icelandics, and I will be thrilled to help them out!
