I bet they will return every year! One year the neighbor took some of the eggs and hatched them, to see if the ones he hatched would stay here with the ducks (that are now gone). They did stay for more than a year, but then they left with their family.

I just picked up an Icelandic fleece for my dad.. found it on craigslist.. the lady has several Icelandic sheep which are used for the soft hair-like wool.. she had no idea there were Icelandic chickens too..

She wants to see mine when they hatch next month... might have the 2nd Idaho home for Icelandic chicks.. maybe I'll trade her for a couple of lambs next spring..

Wenatchee?!? Cool! I have an aunt in Cashmere. That's beautiful country there. Should be perfect for Viking Chickens!

Lol my highschool was rivals with cashmere.
I went to HS in Leavenworth.
I live in the mountains so Icelandic chickens in my orchard would fit in well.

You are related to someone in cashemere??

who are they. I am related to half of cashmere through the Jergens, Weythmans (sp) and Bromfields....
cashmere is really inbred.

It looks to me like Stella is looking down the road. I think she is considering another tour of the property.

Send me a shipping box!

Well I must go down to the barn and harass Lukka by taking pictures of her baby. She loves that. I actually got teary today watching her teach the baby to drink. How pathetic is that? I'll be back with pics and a bloody left hand. It's all good.
