Icelandic Chickens

Kathy,

She most certainly loves being a Mama! But here's hoping she gets over it this time and lays some hatching eggs for me to share!

Bleethur better watch himself, the girls are gonna be all over Blamann before he knows it!!

Mary, Lukka seems to love being a mom so much, I don't know if you should count on her giving up eggs for you to share. Are any of your younger girls old enough to lay yet? At what age do they generally start laying?

Everyone here is doing well. No free ranging yesterday due to work and then rain late afternoon until midnight. I'll see about some new pics tomorrow when the rain is suppose to be done.

Well I have spoken with her and told her we can't just keep hatching chicks. I explained the cost of shipping hatching eggs vs shipping live birds to her. I have also explained the deal with the extra roos. If we ship hatching eggs, the recipient will have to figure out what to do with all the extra boys when they start learning to crow at 2:30 a.m. I think it was a good talk.

What a wonderful project! Those birds are beautiful. We have a small farm here in Ohio and would love to host some of these birds some day to help with the project.

Keep up the great work!
