Icelandic Chickens

Hi Mary, you don't know me but I have been following this thread since the begining and have really enjoyed reading it. I know this is not the place to post my question to you, but don't know any other way of getting this information. You posted about your new move and I wanted to share the pics with my dh but couldn't find it. What was the name of your post? Congrats on your new journey. It looks like it will be alot of fun and hard work.

Morning all... Just wanted to apologize that I havent gotten pics up yet .. I processed turkeys with Schultz(rob and kathleen) and Attack Chicken Sat. night.. I didnt get home until 1am and and had to work at 7am.. So fell asleep at like 7pm last night(I was soooo tired).. I did get them moved into their permanent enclosure.. They have a 10x10 hoop house that will be moved every few days.. They are settling in well and have finally stopped freaking out everytime I come around.. I am getting the boys back tonight so will get pics then...

Yoohoo Mary (not the "other" Mary) where are you? You think you can buy a new house and abandon us? I don't think so missy!

I don't really blame her though, she's got to have her hands full with the move!!

My boys and girls are doing fine. They are now enjoying yard time with the rest of the flock but they all have a tendency to stay with their own gang. The two young muscovy girls and their mom seem to like the Icelandics better than the other chickens for some reason. They hiss at the Wyandottes and Javas but let the Icelandics share their coop without any problem. Go figure...... They are both the newest so maybe they're kindred spirits...........

Stayed up a bit late to catch some of the MLB All-star game but off to bed for me.

Sorry, didn't mean to disappear. We found out the new house needs a roof and have desperately been trying to find someone to give us a bid before the close of escrow (Thursday) so we'll know what we're facing. Don't believe the hooey about the trades being out of work. We can't even get anyone local to put a bid in writing. My son is getting someone to do it from Phoenix! If I don't have a bid by tomorrow I am rescinding my offer and will start looking again. It's sad but I can't commit to this house without knowing the cost of a new roof. I need a non-lazy roofer now!

And, I am distraught because one of my baby chicks is missing tonight. It probably squeezed under the fence into pitt bull alley and never had a chance. I'll hope it miraculously appears tomorrow but I am not holding out much hope.

Mary
